About Me

As a child, I was constantly moving, with all sorts of balls, in track and field, on bikes and skis. And when I took a break I watched and observed moving bodies, mostly in my mother's ballet studio and in theaters. Since adolescence I'm learning to integrate the challenge of a muscular dystrophy. At first, athletic movements became sort of a refuge. Coming of age, I swerved into movements of the academic mind. And after university I followed the sensing, emotive movements in art. I began this final oscillation with writing. From there, paths led to my voice and, finally, back to the movements of my body. I learned the craft of creating before audience and blank page, danced at festivals and choreographed in the studio. Daily fishing for ideas, the suspicion arose that there might exist ways of doing the same things in a different and more effortless manner. Getting to know Feldenkrais struck me as a revelation: all of a sudden I was able to move for hours, feeling refreshed and whole afterwards. My work has been and continues to be informed by private and academic studies, by learning and teaching.
